"Our first scheduled season game for the 2009 season in the Fourth District will be Tuesday, May 26. District play off games for the 17 and under teams to determine the District Champion will commence on Monday, July 6 and the 19 and under teams will commence the play off games on Monday, July 13, 2009. The teams that have the best won lost record will host the first round of the play off games.

Baseball Scholarship

Fourth District Louisiana American Legion Baseball



    The Fourth District, Department of Louisiana, The American Legion, will award each year, commencing with the 2009 Baseball Season, a scholarship in the amount of $1000.00 payable at $250.00 a year for 4 years. The scholarship may be used to attend a school selected by the student provided it is state accredited and is above the high school level. The mame of the recipent of this award will be forwarded on to the Department of Louisina for consideration of the Department Scholarship Award. The name of the winner of the Department award will then be submitted to the National Organization for consideration. Only one (1) applicant can be nominated by each Senior American Legion Baseball team. Eligibility is open only to Fourth District American Legion Baseball players who have graduated from high school and are listed on the current year (2009) American Legion National Baseball Registration Form #1 that has been filed with National Headquarters. The scholarship application, letters of recommendation and certification form must be completed, postmarked amd mailed to Fourth District Baseball Chairman, P. O. Box 994, Minden, Louisiana 71058-0994 no later than June 30, 2009. Disbursement from the scholarship fund will be made jointly to the student and the school at the beginning of each semester.
